Welcome To St. Francis Kids Club!
Kids Club is a childcare program for children from kindergarten through 6th grade for the days when schools are closed. We provide a safe environment for your kids to learn and play when class is not in session.
When is Kids Club?
Registration for Kids Club program will begin on July 1st at St. Francis Community Center. Your child must be registered for Kids Club at least thirty days prior to them attending. For the 2026/2027 school year, we are open 23 days, based on the days off and early dismissals of the surrounding school districts. Our hours will be 7:30-5:30 on the days when the schools are closed or when the schools have an early dismissal.

There will be a $25 registration fee due at the time of registration.

PARENTAL RESPONSIBILITES
Keep address, phone numbers, and emergency contact information up to date.
Contact person must be able to be reached during the day.
Keep sick children at home.
Label all belongings.
Be aware of weather conditions and school closings.
STAFF RESPONSIBILITIES
Staff will provide a safe environment where the children can learn and play.
Staff will provide a homework area
Staff will plan fun and interactive activities
Staff will communicate with parents about their child’s day.
HOMEWORK TIME - Homework time will be part of the daily schedule. This is time for the child to work independently. While our staff is available to provide some guidance with homework, this time is not set aside for tutoring or one-on-one assistance. A separate table will be provided for children participating in homework time. Please complete the homework time form and return it to staff. If a parent does not wish for their child to participate in homework time, options for quiet choices, like drawing, reading, and quiet toys, will be provided.
LUNCH AND SNACKS - Parents should provide a nutritious lunch and snacks for their child. Lunch time and time for snacks will be part of the daily schedule. Due to some children’s dietary needs, we cannot allow the children to share snacks. It is the parent’s responsibility to notify the staff of any food allergies or sensitivities. We are a peanut-free facility.
GENERAL BEHAVIOR RULES
Children will respect the rules that keep them safe
Children will control their actions so that no one in the program is harmed
Children will remain with a staff member at all times
Children will refrain from biting, kicking, hitting, using abusive behavior
Children will respect equipment and supplies and return them to the proper place
Children will refrain from using profanity or inappropriate language
Children will not bring or use tablets, cell phones, smart watches, or similar personal items at Kids Club.
DISCIPLINE PROCEDURES
The staff will follow these procedures:
Redirect Activities to change the focus of the child’s attention
Explain and model desired behavior
Speak individually and quietly with the child in order to discover if the child understands what is expected or if there may be a hidden problem or need.
Time-out : a shortened period of time away from but in sight of the group to help the child regain control of the behavior.
If the child is unable to regain control of the behavior, the staff may hold the child in another hallway or room.
If the child has repeated incidents of disruptive behavior, the parents or guardians will be contacted and an appropriate cooperative place will be developed and put into practice. If the child’s behavior results in three parent/Guardian conferences during the school year, the parent/guardian will be required to find an alternate place for childcare.
Homework Time
Kids Club offers homework time. We will have a separate table or tables for homework time. Please note this is not for one-on-one assistance, nor is it a tutoring session. Homework time is 20 minutes. Other quiet choices will be available during homework time.
Role of the child:
Bring books, worksheets and supplies needed to complete their assignments.
Try their best to understand and complete the assignment.
Be respectful and try not to distract other students working on homework.
Role of the families:
Check the homework that is completed while in our program.
Help the children understand the difficult assignments and support them as they complete unfinished assignments.
Communicate with the teachers at the school about homework issues.
Role of the Kids Club staff:
Provide an area for homework completion.
Communicate with the parents about homework successes or concerns.
